This ‘exclusive’ about Newcastle United is ludicrous.
This one is particularly poor in comparison to the admittedly strong competition in terms of media claims and NUFC.
I’m just not sure if their’sources’ are Heinz Tomato or HP Sauce.
On a scale of zero to a billion, does anyone honestly believe this ‘exclusive’ has any basis in reality, with actual sources or inside information?
As seen across the Premier League, clubs faced tight financial constraints due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) and Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR). The massive drop in spending during the January 2024 window compared to the previous year reflects this. With looming charges against clubs like Forest and Everton for allegedly breaking FFP/PSR rules, clubs are understandably cautious not to risk similar penalties.
PSG, like other clubs, must adhere to financial regulations. Recent seasons have seen them restricted in spending during certain windows.
Newcastle’s recent spending has also constrained them in the January 2024 window in terms of FFP/PSR. However, with increasing revenues post-takeover, including Champions League income and enhanced commercial deals, Newcastle will be in a stronger financial position this summer.
Newcastle will likely offload squad players rather than key assets like Bruno, Botman, or Isak. These sales, coupled with increased revenue, will allow for significant spending on new signings, complementing the existing core players.
While Joelinton’s contract negotiations are ongoing, indications suggest an agreement will be reached soon. As for my exclusive source on this, let’s just say my Greggs sausage sandwich hinted at it this morning, but I can’t disclose whether it was the HP or Heinz sauce that spilled the beans.
