Lewis Miley stunned after what’s happened to him at Newcastle recently

Lewis Miley, a Newcastle United teenager, has been one of the season’s highlights and was rightfully given a new contract at the end of January.

The midfielder has played more minutes than anyone could have predicted, and he appears to be at ease alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff in the first squad.

Following the announcement of his new long-term contract, Miley shared an Instagram update with fans to express his gratitude for the opportunity and his excitement for the future.

Miley has been Newcastle’s unexpected hero

Miley has shown to be the one bright spot in Newcastle’s roster this season, despite the fact that every other midfielder is out due to injury.

Despite thriving in pre-season, the 17-year-old was not anticipated to play a vital role, but Howe preferred to retain him in and near the first team rather than loaning him out.

Now, as Miley proves time and again that he deserves a spot on that squad, it will be difficult to push him out when they return.

Of course, Eddie Howe would rather not be playing so frequently at such a young age, but it has given him the opportunity to make a strong impression and earn himself this new contract, which he fully deserves.

On Instagram, Miley wrote, “It’s about how far I still have to go.” It’s been an incredible six months, and to top it off with a new contract is beyond anything I could have imagined at 17. I’m excited to continue supporting this incredible team.”

Newcastle’s future looks very bright

Miley stands out in this Newcastle lineup because he is only 17, which is incredible given how brilliant he has been this season, but he isn’t the only youthful talent on Tyneside.

Since the acquisition, the Magpies have developed a strong youthful core that includes Alexander Isak, Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento, Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, and Sven Botman, all of whom are 24 or younger.

They still have a long way to go in terms of development, but with a youthful manager in charge, it’s an exciting moment to be a Newcastle fan, as their future looks brighter with each passing season.
