AC Milan finally pick the manager to replace Stefano Pioli

Several Bologna players have caught the attention of top clubs due to their impressive season, but the interest extends to their head coach, Thiago Motta, as well.

According to today’s Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Motta has become a coveted figure for some prominent clubs, leading to uncertainty about his future as an Italian-Brazilian coach.

Bologna’s management has initiated talks with Motta about extending his contract, which expires in June. However, Motta has remained noncommittal, stating his focus on the ongoing season.

Retaining an up-and-coming manager like Motta for another year appears challenging, with both Milan and Juventus closely monitoring the situation, acknowledging the likelihood of his departure at the end of the season.

While Stefano Pioli’s position at Milan is backed by the ownership, his future remains unclear, with a potential separation at the season’s end being the most probable outcome.

Thiago Motta leads the race to take over PSG's manager position

CEO Giorgio Furlano reportedly views Thiago Motta as a top candidate for the managerial role, with Motta’s strong rapport with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, his former teammate at PSG, adding to his appeal.

For Juventus, hiring Motta would signify a significant change in philosophy, whereas with Milan, there would likely be continuity in terms of on-field approach.

Both clubs currently employ a similar tactical setup, albeit with variations based on player characteristics. Motta’s utilization of players like Joshua Zirkzee demonstrates his adaptability to player strengths.

Ultimately, Motta’s decision will play a crucial role in his future. Despite speculation, his father-agent has dismissed the notion of Motta joining Napoli.
