Official Newcastle United FA Cup decision made after Fulham complaint

Blackburn Rovers v Newcastle United: Ticket details have been confirmed for the FA Cup fifth round clash at Ewood Park.

Newcastle United has confirmed the ticket details for their FA Cup fifth round match against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday, February 27 (7:45pm kick-off).

The Magpies have been granted about 7,000 tickets for the match at Ewood Park, which are already on sale. Tickets are only £20 for adults, £10 for concessions (18 to 23 year olds and over 65s), and £5 for under-18s.
Season ticket holders with 30 or more loyalty points will be able to purchase wet and paper tickets shortly after 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6.

The points requirement will be reduced twice daily, subject to availability, and a limited number of tickets will be made available to season ticket holders who do not have the required away points.

The ticket prices for Newcastle’s recent FA Cup fixture marked a significant reduction compared to their previous game against Fulham at Craven Cottage. At Fulham, adult tickets started at £40, which resulted in a lower turnout and sparked protests among Fulham supporters.

Premier League set to take over FA Cup scheduling

While there was no hike in prices compared to Premier League matches, many Fulham fans opted to boycott the game in support of the #AffordableFulham movement.

Despite the boycott, Newcastle emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, courtesy of goals from Sean Longstaff and Dan Burn. This marked their first FA Cup victory against Premier League opposition since defeating Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in 2012.

Now, Newcastle sets their sights on progressing to the quarter-finals as they head to Ewood Park, aiming to achieve this feat for only the second time since 2006. The Magpies’ last FA Cup triumph dates back to 1955.
