Newcastle player says he is good and will not need surgery after injury fears

Newcastle United finally has one of their big money signings back, with Harvey Barnes returning on Saturday.

The 26-year-old came off the bench to score Newcastle United’s equalizer in a 4-4 draw against Luton Town. It was his second goal of the season, despite just making eight appearances.

Harvey Barnes has had a tough start to life on Tyneside, with a foot injury keeping him out of action since September. He has not been able to make the effect he desired following his £39 million move from Leicester City, and there are even concerns that his season may be gone.

But Barnes is back, and he’s pleased that he and the team made the right decision to forego surgery.

Harvey Barnes says he is ‘all good’ after foot injury

Barnes spoke with the Chronicle about his injuries and was asked if he believed his season would be gone.

“Yes, definitely,” he replied.

“It’s challenging when you chat with multiple specialists and get different answers from them.

“That’s tough. We took the decision to try it without the operation. It was the proper decision, and everything is well now. Now I’m just looking forward to the remainder of the season.”

Newcastle were very worried about Barnes

Eddie Howe will be thrilled to welcome Barnes back, especially considering the significant investment the club made in him. While we haven’t fully witnessed his potential yet, the initial signs are promising, with two goals and an assist already to his name. There’s optimism for more contributions from him as the season progresses.

However, there were concerns that Barnes’ season might have ended prematurely due to an injury. It took an extensive period for him to recover from what seemed like a minor injury, with Newcastle choosing rehabilitation over surgery.

Though the decision for rehab was considered the best course, there was worry that any setback could have necessitated surgery, leading to the end of his season.

Fortunately, the rehabilitation process proved successful, and Barnes now assures that he’s fully recovered. Hopefully, this holds true, and we’ll soon see him back in the starting lineup for Newcastle.
