Finding a referee with minimal history officiating Liverpool matches can be challenging, but there shouldn’t be any pre-match controversies with the officials appointed for the Burnley game.
Liverpool is likely aiming to reclaim the top spot from Manchester City on Saturday. City will play Everton in the early kick-off, and Liverpool will follow at 3 pm. Currently, only two points separate the teams, with City having a game in hand, keeping fans on edge as they await the outcome.
Despite the looming clash with City in March, Klopp’s focus is solely on the Burnley match this Saturday.
The Premier League has confirmed Tim Robinson as the referee for the fixture, marking his first time overseeing a Liverpool match in the top flight. While Robinson has officiated Liverpool before in League Cup games against Leicester and West Ham, this will be his first Premier League encounter with the Reds.
Assisting Robinson on the touchline are Eddie Smart and Nick Greenhalgh, with Tom Bramall as the fourth official. Stuart Attwell leads the VAR operations, supported by Marc Perry.
Robinson, who was promoted from the Football League over the summer, has already awarded five penalties this season and averages four yellow cards per game.
Liverpool will be without Ibrahima Konate, who was shown a red card against Arsenal, leading to his suspension for the Burnley match. Jarell Quansah is expected to replace him.
