Newcastle key player confirms he should be fit for next match

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is prepared to keep playing through the tiredness after getting another whack on Saturday.

The 26-year-old was seen limping in the second half of Newcastle United’s 4-4 draw with Luton Town, raising concerns among fans that he would have to come off.

Fortunately, Bruno Guimaraes was able to play despite his pain and help the Magpies save a point. His amazing pass helped Kieran Trippier make it 4-3 before Harvey Barnes equalised for Newcastle.

Then Newcastle went in search of the winner, with Bruno leading the way. He made another brilliant cross with the outside of his boot, but Jacob Murphy was unable to score.

It was a terribly sad finale to a dramatic game, with Anthony Gordon departing St James’ Park on crutches.

Bruno also appeared to injure himself against Luton, although he has stated that he is alright despite the impact of Newcastle’s demanding schedule.

Bruno Guimaraes says he is fine despite getting kicked

Following Newcastle’s 4-4 draw with Luton, Bruno spoke to the Chronicle about his physical condition.

“I got a kick in my calf,” he explained.

“I feel okay, though; I’m used to playing 60 games per season. To be honest, I’m exhausted, but that’s typical. I’m happy.

“From my perspective, this is still one of my best seasons with the club. Even though I have not scored many goals, I am contributing to the club’s success.”

As Bruno stated, he is having a fantastic season on a personal level, ranking alongside Anthony Gordon as Newcastle’s greatest player.

He is performing fantastically well, although he might use some extra help in midfield. The trio of him, Sean Longstaff, and Lewis Miley is not working, and Toon supporters are keen to see Joe Willock return.

It’s unclear when that will happen, but Bruno is expected to play in Newcastle’s next encounter against Nottingham Forest. Despite the fact that he is exhausted and was kicked on Saturday, he will persevere.
