‘He will suffer for the rest of his life’ – Pundit makes devastating claim about Newcastle star

Newcastle United must enable Alexander Isak to have surgery following his most recent severe injury setback.

Former West Ham and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie told Football Insider that the Magpies will give the striker injections before sanctioning surgery in the summer so that he may return to action following his current groin ailment.

The Swedish international was pulled off the pitch during Newcastle’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Tuesday (30 January) and is anticipated to be out for several weeks.

In his second season on Tyneside, Isak missed eight games in all competitions due to injury, although he still scored 14 goals.

McAvennie was adamant that the 24-year-old will endure life-long pain unless he receives surgery as soon as possible so that he may be available in “eight weeks”.

“He hasn’t been with the club for long, but he’s out so much,” he told Football Insider.

“Knowing football clubs, they’ll probably give him injections to keep him fit for the next several months, followed by an operation in the summer.

“If his injuries are going to cause him issues in the future, he should get them treated right away.

“If he comes back in eight weeks for the final run-in, that is what I would do.

“Go get it done.

“It could hurt him in the long run. Do it for the boy’s sake too because it will do him more damage in the long-term.

“You don’t want to be getting injuries like this so young and not get them sorted.

“He will suffer for the rest of his life.”
