Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has already seen enough heartbreak on the football field to start the year. So, instead of attending the 2024 Pro Bowl Games in Orlando this weekend, he’s gearing up for a more relaxed but competitive golf experience.
According to The Buffalo News, Allen is scheduled to miss the Pro Bowl Games to compete in the PGA Tour’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The event starts Thursday in Pebble Beach, California.
Allen is an ardent golfer who will compete in the event for the third time this summer. Last season, he competed alongside PGA pro golfer Keith Mitchell, finishing fourth behind Ben Silverman and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who won the tournament.
Allen, a nominee for the AP Most Valuable Players award, led the NFL in total yards (4,830) and total touchdowns (44) during the regular season. He completed the regular season with 385 of 579 passing for 4,306 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. However, Allen’s rushing performance aided the Bills, as he had 111 carries for 524 yards and a career-high 15 touchdowns.
Allen also became the first player in NFL history to have four consecutive 40-touchdown seasons with a Week 15 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Allen has been named a finalist for MVP three times (2020, 2022, and 2023).
