Breaking news: AC Milan make enquiry to sign £50m player ahead of deadline

AC Milan has approached Chelsea about signing Armando Broja before the transfer deadline.

Milan reportedly contacted Chelsea about Armando Broja, according to The Telegraph.

The same source suggests that the Blues think other teams will express late interest in their striker.

However, with Chelsea now believed to be willing to allow Broja leave Stamford Bridge on loan, it appears that they have given up on receiving a significant transfer fee for the 22-year-old.

Another story from The Telegraph earlier this month stated that the club valued Broja at roughly £50 million.

It is not surprising to hear that Milan is interested in Broja. The Italian powerhouses have recently done a lot of shopping at Chelsea and have gotten some great deals.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic both departed Stamford Bridge during the last transfer window and are now flourishing at the San Siro.

The latter, for example, has 11 goals in 20 Serie A outings.

Finally, with their Chelsea signings going so well, Milan should look at other options there.

A move to Stefano Pioli’s squad might also benefit Broja, who has not played consistently for Chelsea this season. Under Mauricio Pochettino, the Albanian international has only made six Premier League starts.

Even with Nicolas Jackson away at the Africa Cup of Nations, he was unable to secure a berth in the first XI.
