Newcastle United ‘could hijack’ £25m winger deal before Thursday deadline

Newcastle are expected to make a late bid for winger Antonio Nusa before Thursday night’s deadline. According to HLN, Brentford was closing in on the Club Brugge star, but medical difficulties could allow the Magpies in.

Newcastle are reportedly ‘lurking’ as they seek to strengthen before the end of the transfer window, and the race may not be over yet. The Bees were about to conclude a £25 million move that would send the winger back to Belgium for the remainder of the season. If Newcastle does make a move, it is unclear what capacity it will be.

 

Joelinton exit latest

One journalist believes Newcastle could lose Joelinton during the summer transfer season, citing reports of a potential exit for the Brazilian. TalkSport’s Alex Crook told GiveMeSport that Joelinton has 18 months left on his deal, so he might be sold in the summer.

“I am not a fortune teller, but it is a possibility. I hope this is not the case. I want him to stay. I adore him as a person and player. But before a player signs a contract, he must be satisfied with everything, and we are not there yet.”
