Mehrdad Ghodoussi, Newcastle United’s co-owner, delivered a four-word message to Bruno Guimaraes following their triumph against Aston Villa Friday night.
Newcastle pulled off an incredible achievement, defeating the Premier League’s finest home team and giving themselves hope of still accomplishing their Champions League dream this season.
Following the game, Bruno rushed to Instagram to share his celebration, to which Ghodoussi responded with a message reminiscent of when he first arrived at Newcastle.
Bruno says he’s very happy at Newcastle after big win
There has been a lot of conjecture regarding the futures of many Newcastle players this month, and Bruno is undoubtedly on that list when PSG emerged as a possible destination for the midfielder.
There were rumors that Newcastle would have to sell one of its great players in order to sign anyone, and that is still possible, but it will not happen this month.
Looking ahead until the summer, this problem may resurface, but Eddie Howe has stated that he will do all possible to keep Bruno at Newcastle because he is so crucial to the team’s style of play.
The Brazilian has already committed to the club, and his post following last night’s success showed how ‘happy’ he is with the Magpies right now.
On Instagram, Bruno wrote, “Two happy years in this squad, with a very crucial win! Thank you for everything, NUFC fans. “I’m content here.”
Ghodoussi then responded: “Remember that first zoom?”
Newcastle were at their best against Villa
It seems like the consensus on Newcastle this season is that they haven’t been able to replicate the form that propelled them into the top four last season. Repeatedly, they’ve appeared disjointed and tired, likely due to the heavy schedule of European and cup matches earlier in the season. In December alone, they played 10 games in 30 days, leaving them fatigued.
However, after a two-week break before their FA Cup match against Fulham, they finally have some rested players, which has significantly improved their performances. The effectiveness of Newcastle’s high press, which had been lacking all season, was evident at Villa Park, much to the delight of manager Howe.
Nevertheless, there is concern over the injury to Alexander Isak, who had to be substituted in the first half, leaving Newcastle without a recognized striker.
