AC Milan has shifted its focus in the quest for a central defender, and the latest contender is Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham. Stefano Pioli emphasized the ongoing objective of signing a new center-back before the transfer window closes, considering the various injury concerns in that position.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the list of potential targets includes Clement Lenglet from Aston Villa (on loan from Barcelona) and Lilian Brassier from Brest. However, in the recent hours, Milan has initiated contacts for Adarabioyo from Fulham.
Regarding Lenglet, Milan’s management is awaiting approval from Villa to terminate his loan prematurely, allowing negotiations with Barcelona for a new loan. As for Brassier, the potential move depends on Brest reducing their demands.
Adarabioyo, whose contract with Fulham expires in June, has become a subject of discussion with Milan’s technical director Geoffrey Moncada holding talks with the player’s brother and agent to explore the conditions for a potential transfer.
While Milan seems more inclined towards securing him on a free transfer, there is also a possibility of him arriving in January with compensation payment to Fulham. It’s worth noting that other clubs besides Milan have expressed interest in the 26-year-old player, as mentioned by Di Marzio.
