Done deal: Tennessee Volunteers Land Top Offensive Tackle

For years, the Tennessee Volunteers have attempted to compete in the Southeastern Conference but have consistently fallen short. With Texas and Oklahoma joining the conference, winning the season got even more difficult. Former LSU offensive tackle Lance Heard revealed his commitment to the Volunteers today, which was a significant gain for the school.

Tennessee Volunteers Land OT Lance Heard

Heard was ranked 51st overall in the 2023 class and third among offensive tackles. He appeared in 12 games for the Tigers in 2023 and was regarded as one of the best offensive linemen in the nation. Due to players transferring away, the Volunteers needed some offensive line help. Heard is set to start straight away, and he has three years of eligibility remaining. He is the seventh player the program has brought via the gateway.

2024 Outlook

Tennessee’s regular season schedule includes games against Alabama and Georgia. This comes on top of matchups versus Florida, Oklahoma, and North Carolina State. Even with Nick Saban’s retirement, the Crimson Tide will remain a tough opponent. The Bulldogs will be looking to regain the conference. This is not new to the Volunteers. In order to win the SEC, you must defeat the best.

Can the Tennessee Volunteers make some noise in the SEC? They have a lot of talent, but the conference is brutal.
