AC Milan make contact to sign ‘excellent’ midfielder

AC Milan is actively pursuing a move for Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic, looking to secure his transfer to the club in the upcoming summer. According to a report by Claudio Raimondi from Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are committed to acquiring Samardzic and have initiated the process early.

The 21-year-old Serbian, recognized as one of Serie A’s most promising young midfielders, appears poised to depart Udinese in search of a more challenging environment in the summer. While Milan currently has no urgent need for a midfielder in the January transfer window, their primary focus is on bolstering their defense.

Samardzic has showcased his talent with three goals and two assists in Serie A this season, an impressive contribution from the midfield position within a team that isn’t prolific in scoring. His recent goal in Milan’s 3-2 victory over Udinese has garnered praise from figures like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Geoffrey Moncada.

Despite potential competition for the talented player, Milan might find an opportunity, as Napoli is deterred by the presumed high price, and Atalanta is concentrating on securing Charles De Ketelaere permanently from Milan. Juventus seems to have shifted their focus to Teun Koopmeiners and Ederson from Atalanta, leaving Inter and Milan as the likely contenders for Samardzic’s signature.
