Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna says striker Freddie Ladapo leaves the club on loan with everyone’s best wishes.
The 30-year-old striker joined with League One Charlton Athletic till the end of the season on Friday, and he made his Addicks debut yesterday, playing 86 minutes in a 2-0 loss to Burton.
Ladapo was an important part of the promotion campaign last season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions, but has fallen out of the first team picture this season and hasn’t scored since September.
“It’s a good move for Freddie,” McKenna told TownTV. “He needs to get more minutes and start some games, and he has the opportunity to do so at a top club.
“He leaves with our best wishes. Freddie has done an excellent job over the previous 18 months and has been a key player for us.
“He goes there with all our wishes to do well until the end of the season.”
