Bruno Guimaraes says he’d really like to see £51m player sign for Newcastle United

Newcastle United have two fantastic Brazilian players on their books right now.

Bruno Guimaraes has been addressing which additional Brazilian players he would like to see at St James’ Park, and he has stated that he would like to see West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta transferred to Tyneside after working with the midfielder at Lyon.

Guimaraes wants Paqueta at Newcastle

Guimaraes spoke about the £51m man potentially coming to Newcastle.

“In terms of Brazilian teammates who aren’t at Newcastle, which one would you most like to join you?” Guimaraes was asked.

“Another Brazilian here? For me I played with him at Lyon it’s Lucas Paqueta he is one of my best friends, so I would say him,” Guimaraes said.

Imagine that midfield

It’s truly mouthwatering to imagine Guimaraes, Paqueta and Joelinton all playing in the same midfield.

It would be the ideal combination of strength, energy, talent, and precision, and it would be a pleasure to watch in the Premier League.

Because of their Brazilian connection, all three players should already have a good chemistry with one another, and if the new Brazil manager, Dorival, has any sense, he’ll put these three together.

Of course, with FFP limitations in place, Paqueta is unlikely to join Newcastle this month, but he is one to keep an eye on in the future because Guimaraes is clearly a fan of the player and he has already demonstrated that he is skilled enough to make it in the Premier League.

This would be a fantastic signing for the Magpies, and Dan Ashworth could do a lot worse than listening to Guimaraes’ advice here.
