Sunderland urged to sign £40k-a-week star ahead of championship rivals

Kieffer Moore has been linked with a transfer to Leeds United this month as Daniel Farke wants to make a few signings, but Carlton Palmer believes he should join Sunderland.

Moore, 31, could be leaving Bournemouth after two years, having scored 10 goals in 44 appearances. The striker is fighting for playing time with Dominic Solanke in top form.

Leeds are thought to be one of the clubs interested in the Wales star, and they are aware he may be available. A Welsh international who has scored 12 goals, with our Dan James assisting on half of them.

According to reports, Sunderland are leading the hunt for the £40,000-a-week striker, who scored in Bournemouth’s FA Cup victory against QPR last time out. Andoni Iraola is thought to want to keep Moore, but Moore will want to leave.

Former Leeds midfielder Palmer has now remarked on the striker’s interest, claiming that he would be an excellent addition to Sunderland’s squad. He claims he can compensate for the loss of Ross Stewart on Wearside.

“Sunderland needs goals. Given Moore’s age, this is most likely a loan move. He is similar in stature to Ross Stewart, who left. Tall, mobile, and good in both boxes, the fans would gravitate toward him right away.

“Sunderland currently sit sixth place in the Championship and the signing of Moore to add that extra firepower could see them secure a play-off place for a second season running,” Palmer said in a statement.

Sunderland urged to sign Leeds United target Kieffer Moore

Moore is an outstanding striker at Championship level. He has played 155 games in the second division, scoring 47 goals and providing 14 assists. This is despite only starting 113 of those games.

He is an excellent choice if he can be persuaded to go to Leeds. The Whites might be enticed since he would join a rising Welsh contingent at Elland Road. James, Joe Rodon, and Ethan Ampadu.

Moore, however, will want to be first choice if he leaves Bournemouth, and that will not be the case at Leeds, with Patrick Bamford returning to form, Joel Piroe, and Georgie Rutter. Sunderland would be his best option.
