Player linked to Burnley agrees personal terms for transfer

Ian Maatsen of Chelsea has rejected a move to Burnley in favour of joining Borussia Dortmund in the winter transfer window.

According to Bild, the left-back rejected Burnley’s hefty offer because he’really wants’ to join the Bundesliga club.

Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl reportedly made a ‘decisive’ decision to sign the Chelsea star on Saturday.

The loan transfer has not yet been confirmed, but according to the source, the two clubs have struck a verbal agreement for the 21-year-old to move to Signal Iduna Park until the end of the season.

Bild reports that Edin Terzić would be without Julian Ryerson for weeks, while Guille Bueno had a knee injury in a friendly against AZ Alkmaar over the weekend.

As a result, Kehl is currently attempting to complete the Maatsen transaction’very soon’.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the Dutchman is interested in joining BVB and has already agreed on personal conditions.
He adds that negotiations for the loan deal are progressed but ‘not done yet’ because the two clubs are contemplating a buy option.

This is anticipated to be resolved soon, as Galetti thinks Dortmund is close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea for Maatsen.
