AC Milan have moved ahead of Fiorentina in the pursuit of young right-back Filippo Terracciano from Hellas Verona, as per a report. Sportitalia’s information suggests that the Rossoneri are earnestly considering adding the 2003-born Terracciano to their squad.
The timing of their interest, whether it’s for the January transfer window or the summer, remains unclear. Despite not having an immediate need for a right-back in January, Milan’s priorities seem to lie in reinforcing the center-back, midfield, and striking positions.
While Fiorentina previously appeared as frontrunners in the chase for Terracciano, Milan appears to have overtaken them in the race.
The 20-year-old has spent his entire career at Verona, being a native of the city. In the 2022/23 season, he participated in 20 Serie A matches, but for the ongoing 2023/24 season, he has already featured in 18 games, accumulating significantly more playing time than the previous season.
Although a constant starter for the Gialloblu, he has managed just one assist this season.
Terracciano’s versatility stands out as a key attribute. Despite primarily operating as a right-back, he possesses the capability to play on the left side or in the center of defense. Additionally, he has experience playing across various midfield positions in his relatively brief career.
Antonio Vitiello of Milan News also confirmed the news of Milan’s pursuit of Terracciano, stating that negotiations for a deal are currently underway.
