Newcastle United plot surprise January move for Real Madrid star

Newcastle United will reportedly look to sign Brahim Diaz in a deal worth €60 million from Real Madrid in January.

Newcastle United has expressed interest in Brahim Diaz, according to Spanish outlet Defensa Central. The Magpies are interested in signing the Real Madrid playmaker, 24, during the January transfer window. They are willing to spend €60 million to get his services this winter.

Brahim Diaz and His Struggles at Real Madrid

Brahim Diaz has been in and out of Real Madrid’s starting lineup since his return after a lengthy loan spell at AC Milan. That has been his constant refrain since his return to Spain from Manchester City nearly a decade ago. The Spanish international has yet to establish himself in Real Madrid’s first-team squad.

Vinicius Junior’s long-term injury has aided Brahim, who has four goals and two assists in 17 games this season. However, the 24-year-old playmaker has only played 657 minutes this season. As a result, his prospects do not appear promising, particularly when the Real Madrid club is at full strength.

Brahim’s stature remains high despite being in and out of the club this season. Several well-known European clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen, have expressed interest in the player. AC Milan, his old club, is also interested in him. Newcastle United is interested in him, so a move to the Premier League could be on the cards.

Newcastle United Keen on Brahim Diaz

According to the report, the Magpies want to sign the Real Madrid playmaker during the January transfer window. They are willing to pay a large transfer fee of €60 million to sign Brahim Diaz this winter. However, that price appears to be exorbitant for a player who has yet to justify such an investment in his career.

Nonetheless, Newcastle United will attempt to lure Real Madrid’s 24-year-old playmaker away from the club next month. A bid of €60 million may suffice for Real Madrid, unless the Spanish giants place a higher value on him.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United may not be the only club in the Premier League interested in Brahim Diaz. Aston Villa and West Ham United have also been mentioned in recent publications. So it will be intriguing to watch if the Real Madrid midfielder’s January move to Newcastle United comes to fruition.
