Rade Krunic seems to have fallen to the bottom of Stefano Pioli’s midfield hierarchies, and it is possible that he could depart the club during the January window.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports this morning that the Milan management would not object to the transfer of Krunic, who Pioli is using less and less, but that a decent offer must arrive.
Fenerbahçe has been after him for some time and enticed him with a big salary (€3.5m net per season) in the summer. The Turkish club is now ready to attempt again, but a transfer fee deal with Milan will be required.
The deal fell through in the summer because Fenerbahce’s bid was too low, but the Rossoneri have begun talks about renewing his contract (which expires in 2025), but Krunic’s salary demands are regarded too high.
A new signature will be required in the event of a sale. Milan will be without Tommaso Pobega for several months, and Ismael Bennacer will be away at the African Cup of Nations in January, which is why Hamed Traoré’s name has resurfaced.
He is a former Sassuolo midfielder who currently plays for Bournemouth. He was a player Milan followed closely when he was in Serie A, although there is competition from Napoli to sign him.
With the Neroverdi, he was primarily utilized as a playmaker or winger, but he is now also deployed as a box-to-box midfielder.
