AC Milan will no longer sign star in January, he is too expensive

The idea of signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna is likely to remain a dream for AC Milan according to Carlo Pellegatti, who believes that he is already too expensive.

Zirkzee has eight goals and two assists in 17 games for Bologna this season, with his most recent standout effort coming in the Coppa Italia triumph over Inter on Wednesday night, when he produced two fantastic assists for Beukema and Ndoye.

According to rumors, Zirkzee has surpassed Jonathan David on the Rossoneri’s list of preferred strikers as they hunt for a replacement for Olivier Giroud. However, the rivalry ahead of next summer will be strong, with his value rising game by game at the moment.

Stadio - Bologna, Zirkzee ora segna e convince

During the ‘Pelle Rossonera’ episode on Radio Rossonera, Pellegatti discussed the newest transfer news involving Milan, namely Zirkzee, as well as the likelihood of it occurring.

“Would you spend 40 million  today on Zirkzee?” It’s a pointless question: we don’t spend 40 million on a single player in January or August. “Whether right or wrong, it will be like this,” he said.

“Next year, I wouldn’t change anything except a few little switches to the left (where we were close to getting Calafiori, which is a shame) and I would only sign Zirkzee.” The team would still be complete at that date.

“Be careful, he reminds me of Kakà as a type: not a centre-forward, not a winger, but capable of scoring from anywhere.” Do Milan and Zirkzee get along? This name was never officially mentioned to me.

“However, I don’t want to exclude him because, knowing the environment, it seems strange to me that they could go for players who are already ‘gone’ like him.” Unfortunately, I don’t believe he is part of this command group’s strategies.

“Yet another’Giroud-style’ striker?” Not even a Taremi, though. Even though there aren’t many available, I’d go with a less experienced player. At the beginning of February, I’ll give you a name. With a player like Morata, I would be calm.

“Guirassy is having a fantastic season, as Thuram hasn’t done anything till today. Is this a player like Toni, who bursts onto the scene at 28? It’s about putting in a little money, 17 million, but I’m not sure if this budget exists for January. There is a notion that he is hesitant to leave Stuttgart in January.”
