Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier received a classy message from Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk.
After Newcastle United were knocked out of the Carabao Cup last night, Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk tweeted a lovely message to Kieran Trippier.
Eddie Howe’s team were 90 seconds away from advancing to the competition’s semi-finals until Trippier’s blunder allowed Mudryk to equalize in the 92nd minute and send the game to penalties.
The Blues won the shootout 4-2 after Trippier and Matt Ritchie both missed penalty attempts. Mudryk also showed his support for Trippier on a difficult occasion.
“Kieran, I just wanna say to you: stay strong,” the Ukrainian wrote on his Instagram story. Sometimes —- happens, but I believe you are a strong footballer nonetheless.”
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino remarked after his team’s victory, “I am so pleased, and the players deserve some credit.”
“We didn’t deserve to concede the way we did, and it can affect any team.” We responded quite effectively and dominated the game against a very solid Newcastle team. Then we keep pushing in the second half, make some adjustments, and, of course, attempt to make an influence on the squad.
“The most important thing in football is to believe until the end, which we did because we kept believing, and we always know penalties are a lottery.” Of course, talent and quality are important. Of course, we were overjoyed because our goal before the game was to go to the semi-finals.
“We are in the semi-finals, and now we must move on, wait until tomorrow, and then focus and prepare for the next Premier League game.”
