Two Newcastle players are injured and will miss the next two games now

As the injury problem worsens, two Newcastle United players are certain to miss tonight’s game against Chelsea and Saturday’s game against Luton Town.

Both Joelinton and Fabian Schar were forced off in the first half of Newcastle’s 3-0 win over Fulham, and it now appears like both will be out for at least the next week.

According to the iPaper, the duo will not be included in tonight’s squad at Stamford Bridge and will also miss Saturday’s trip to Kennilworth Road.

Newcastle get good news and bad news on the injury front

Newcastle got off to a good start on Saturday, as it appeared like they were finally getting some depth back into the team, with Sven Botman returning and Dan Burn starting his first game since early November.

However, Eddie Howe was not so fortunate as two more players were added to Newcastle’s injured list and will now miss the games against Chelsea and Luton.

Every week, it appears to be one in one out for Newcastle – as soon as Botman returns, Schar is hurt, and just as Callum Wilson returns, Alexander Isak is struggling again.

The club’s problem appears to be never-ending, but Newcastle don’t have time to lament, and those players who are still healthy enough must find whatever energy is available to get through this frenetic period.

Big blow for games against Chelsea and Luton

Newcastle are looking to get their season back on track after a Champions League departure and two tough Premier League defeats, and the last thing they want to deal with is more injuries.

This is especially true given that their next two games are away from home, where they have struggled this season, only winning twice against Sheffield United and Manchester United.

Chelsea and Luton Town are considerably different from recent opponents, and both are now struggling in their own way, but Newcastle cannot take either team for granted at this point in the season.
