Premier league club close to player’s family now want to sign ‘fantastic’ Sunderland star

According to reports, Chelsea is currently attempting to sign one player from the Championship.

The Blues are interested in signing Jobe Bellingham, according to TeamTalk, and have been trying to get him since Todd Boehly took over.

Boehly has made no secret of his desire to bring in a number of young talents in order to beat off fellow elite sides to a contract.

Bellingham, who is presently playing for Sunderland in the English second division, is one player they have tried to sign in the past.

Sunderland interim manager Mike Dodds lauded him as ‘fantastic’ for his efforts this season.

Chelsea is no stranger to the Bellingham family, with the club attempting to sign Jude from Borussia Dortmund over the summer.

However, he ended up at Real Madrid, where his game has gone from strength to strength in a more advanced position this season.

According to the article, Boehly was interested in bringing the pair to Stamford Bridge at the same time, but that has certainly not happened.

They are now ready to compete with Real Madrid for the signature of the younger of the two brothers.

Chelsea’s first priority in the forthcoming transfer window is a striker who can consistently put the ball in the back of the net.

They will have noticed that Victor Osimhen is apparently going to sign a new deal, which would include a significant release clause that the Blues will be able to exercise only in the summer.

This could lead to them looking elsewhere next month, with Viktor Gykores or Ivan Toney mentioned as potential alternatives.
