Nottingham Forest hold talks with new manager and reveal when to sack Cooper

Nottingham Forest have lost five of their last six Premier League games, including last Friday’s 2-0 loss to

Tottenham. According to Sky Sports News, Steve Cooper’s relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis has deteriorated to the point where it is now “difficult.”

Nottingham Forest authorities have met with Nuno Espirito Santo, the former Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur manager, about taking over at the City Ground, with Steve Cooper’s future looking increasingly dismal.

Forest have won only one of their previous 13 games, and Sky Sports News has learned that Cooper’s relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis has deteriorated to the point of being “difficult.”

Cooper, who brought Forest to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years, is well-known to the Greek businessman. However, it is understood that he is concerned that Cooper may become bored with the project and that new ideas are required.

Marinakis is unwilling to let the club’s results to deteriorate after massive investment in the squad, which has seen 44 new players added since the club’s promotion in May 2022.

This has caused the Forest owner and his senior management team to investigate a number of potential replacements, with Nuno thought to be among the favorites. The initial discussions have been positive.

Nuno is out of employment after leaving Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad earlier this year, and Sky Sports News understands he wants to return to the Premier League after his ill-fated four-month stint in command of Tottenham.
One of the reasons Forest likes Nuno is because of what he accomplished at Wolves, molding the players that the club purchased. As a result, Marinakis believes he is a good fit for the post at City Ground, where the organization is comparable.
