Sunderland player tipped to make ‘shock’ Leeds move in January after last night

Sunderland’s defense was brilliant in the Black Cats’ 1-0 win over Leeds United on Tuesday, and Trai Hume offered the ideal audition in front of Daniel Farke, according to recent sources.

Jobe Bellingham scored the game’s only goal as Sunderland put on a strong performance to defeat Leeds at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday night. However, the Black Cats’ defense was outstanding.

It was summed up perfectly when Northern Ireland’s Hume cleared Joel Piroe’s late shot at goal off the line. The Sunderland Echo scored Hume an 8/10, calling his play “crucial” to the victory.

Last night, he received the highest rating from WhoScored, a 7.89. There were four tackles, four interceptions, and three clearances.

He had two blocks and completed 22 of his 26 passes. The defender delivered an outstanding performance.

According to Team Talk, Leeds, Leicester, and Burnley are all interested in signing Hume. If Leeds want to sign Hume, he had the perfect audition in front of Farke on Tuesday night.

Sunderland boss sends a strong selection message to Trai Hume after 'amazing' performance

By the end of the season, Leeds may require a right-back. Archie Gray is performing admirably, yet he is a natural midfielder. Contracts for Luke Ayling, Sam Byram, Stuart Dallas, and Jamie Shackleton expire in June.

Djed Spence is just on loan, and it is unclear whether a permanent deal will be pursued. Leeds will require a long-term solution on the right side of defense, and Hume would be an excellent signing.

Hume is an experienced player at this level, and based on his performance on Tuesday night, he has the tools to step right in at Leeds and shine. Sunderland will not want to sell, but Farke will have been attracted by the offer on Tuesday.
