Milan might outpace Juventus in the race to secure Felipe Anderson, potentially making a move as soon as January.
Recently, the winger has become a target for Juventus. His contract with Lazio ends at the season’s close, prompting interest from Juventus and Napoli to sign him on a free transfer in July.
However, Milan could act preemptively to beat the competition, aiming for an earlier move, as reported by La Repubblica Roma via JuventusNews24.
According to sources, Milan aims to acquire the 30-year-old’s services in January, although the player’s agent still favors Lazio, even though talks for a contract renewal have hit a snag.
Anderson previously played for Biancocelesti from 2013 to 2018 before transferring to West Ham United for a significant sum. His return to the Italian capital in 2021 reestablished his importance to the club.
In the current season, he has contributed one goal and six assists in 21 appearances across various competitions.
Juve FC say
Following their summer buying spree, Milan returning to the market to add a new winger to their ranks seemed to be an unlikely narrative. On the right flank, the Rossoneri already have Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chuckwueze.
Anderson’s two most likely options are to sign a contract extension with Lazio or to leave as a free agent in the summer.
