Milan star is yet to train as Champions League return seems unlikely

Danish defender Simon Kjaer has yet to practice with AC Milan as part of his injury recovery, making a comeback to the Champions League next week appear doubtful, according to a report.

According to Tuttosport (via Milan News), Kjaer is the defender expected to return from injury first for Milan, but he will not play this weekend against Atalanta.

The hope is that he will be able to play in Wednesday’s critical Champions League match against Newcastle.

Given that he did not practice with Milan during the week, his prospects of being healthy for Wednesday are dwindling.

His condition was first thought to be a tiredness, but he has now been gone for 41 days. Rafael Leao, on the other hand, has participated in some group training this week, which means he is much more likely to make his return against Newcastle next week.
