Wolves star Dan Bentley says one Burnley player wasn’t happy with him last night

Wolves won again in the Premier League last night, and Dan Bentley has received a lot of praise for his performance.

After suffering back-to-back Premier League defeats, Gary O’Neil’s side battled to a 1-0 triumph.

The performance at Molineux was never going to count all that much. It was all about the result, and happily, Wolves came away with three points to relieve some of the strain.

Hwang Hee-chan scored the game’s only goal, continuing his fantastic run of form. It was the South Korean forward’s ninth goal of the season.

Dan Bentley, on the other hand, made a significant contribution with a spectacular double save in the first half.

And the Molineux number two has now shared how Josh Brownhill reacted to that moment…

Dan Bentley shares how Burnley star Josh Brownhill reacted to his double save for Wolves

Towards the end of the first-half, Wolves got into a bit of trouble when Joao Gomes failed to clear his lines in the corner.

The ball was crossed to Jay Rodriguez, but Bentley made himself enormous to stop him.

The ball was then sent out to Brownhill, who blasted a volley that appeared to be heading for the bottom corner. Bentley managed to tip it around the post despite a minor deflection on the way through. Amazon Sport pundits Michael Owen and Rachel Brown-Finnis were impressed by a double save.

Bentley shared an exchange he had with Brownhill after the game. He said: “He came up to me at the end and he gave me a few choice words for saving his shot, especially because it took a deflection right in front of me, so it made it a little more difficult – and Mario has to thank me for that one, because he obviously didn’t want his name attached to any goal against us!”

Bentley, of course, knows Brownhill well, with the pair having previously played together at Bristol City.

Bentley double save was amazing

Bentley’s double stop was an incredible display of goalkeeping.

The second stop was especially outstanding because he was so quick to recover after Rodriguez’s first save. Brownhill delivered a fantastic volley, and it’s no surprise he was disappointed it didn’t go in.

Hwang may have won last night, but Bentley’s impact to the outcome was enormous.

Aside from that double save, he didn’t have much to do, but it’s obviously a different game if Wolves concede at that moment, so Bentley deserves a lot of respect.
