Amad Diallo reacts to Sunderland sacking Tony Mowbray
Mowbray was appointed manager of Sunderland in the summer of 2022. Last season, the Black Cats finished in the Championship playoff places.
Sunderland are currently tenth in the Championship table. They have 27 points from 19 games and are only three points out of the playoffs.
As you can see, Tim Sherwood’s favorite player, Amad Diallo, has messaged Mowbray on X. Last season, the 21-year-old was on loan at Sunderland from Manchester United.

The winger, who was linked with Everton in the summer of 2023, made 29 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Championship during his loan time at the Stadium of Light. Diallo scored 14 goals and assisted on three others in those games.
Sunderland could still have a successful season
According to The Telegraph, Tony Mowbray and the Sunderland management had disagreements. Internal squabbles and recent bad outcomes appear to have cost him his managerial position.
Sunderland are still in a strong position to succeed this season. I do not believe the Black Cats will finish in the top two of the Championship table this season, but they will almost likely make the playoffs.
The Black Cats have a strong squad. Sunderland might have a very successful season if they hire a manager who knows the Championship and has experience promoting clubs.
