Rade Krunic appears to be on the outside of Stefano Pioli’s plans, and a sale next month cannot be ruled out with Fenerbahce still interested.
Krunic’s predicament is discussed in this morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan), beginning with the fact that he was not even sent out to warm up on Saturday during the win over Frosinone and stayed on the bench for the whole match.
Since the international break, the Bosnian has played six minutes in the league against Fiorentina and 37 minutes in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund. He seemed to have lost interest in the project he was working on at the start of the season.
This serves as further evidence that his departure in January, possibly to Fenerbahçe, is becoming more likely. The Istanbul club wanted Krunic earlier in the summer, but Milan turned him down since they needed someone to replace Ismael Bennacer.
However, now that the Franco-Algerian has returned, the sale may be completed. Krunic has been attempting to follow his compatriot Edin Deko at Fenerbahçe but has yet to strike an agreement with Milan for a possible extension of his contract, which expires on 30 June 2025.
Fenerbahce is willing to quadruple the former Empoli player’s wage from €1.5 million net per season to €3 million net per season.
