Zach LaVine gave a rather sarcastic answer to a reporter’s question following the Bulls’ 27-point loss to the Celtics.
The Chicago Bulls’ downward decline resumed Tuesday night, as the Boston Celtics blasted them 124-97 at TD Garden. With another disappointing loss, the Bulls are facing a probable teardown at some point this season, as trade speculations surrounding Zach LaVine flare up.
LaVine had the worst night of the Bulls on Tuesday, going 1-of-9 from the field for two points and finishing the night with a minus-22.
With a 5-14 record barely over a month into the new season, Chicago is already a lost cause. When asked if he thinks the season can be saved, the dissatisfied guard responded:
“You got out there and play, man. You got a lot of season left. You don’t play the scoreboard. You look at the standings, obviously. But you try to win every game you step into and that’s what we’re going to try to do.”
To make matters worse, LaVine left the game with an injury. Due to right foot pain, the 6-foot-5 guard’s night ended with five minutes remaining in the third quarter.
The frustration is palpable, and LaVine appears thoroughly exhausted.
But can you blame them? The losses are stacking up, and this squad is on track to have another disastrous season.
It appears that Chicago will blow it up at some point this season, and the rest of the league appears to be waiting for the Bulls fire sale to begin.
The 28-year-old has been the subject of trade rumors in recent weeks after he and the Bulls allegedly initiated trade talks involving the two-time All-Star. Teams throughout the league are undoubtedly keeping an eye on the situation, since LaVine remains one of the NBA’s greatest offensive players.
