Following the dismal performances of Luka Jovic, AC Milan could add a striker to their team as early as January. A serious attempt for Montpellier Akor Adams is being planned, according to reports.
Olivier Giroud is serving a two-game suspension, and Noah Okafor is out with an injury. As a result, Jovic will start tonight’s match against Fiorentina. The Serbian has yet to score for the Rossoneri, causing the club’s administration to hunt for a January replacement.
According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan are becoming increasingly keen to sign Akor Adams. Montpellier have set a fee of €15 million for the Nigerian, but there is opportunity for negotiation, which is good for the Rossoneri.
Adams has seven goals in eleven league appearances for the French club this season after joining from Lillestrm in the summer. Thus, he may progress from the Eliteserien to Serie A and Milan in less than six months, which would be spectacular.
Meanwhile, Stefano Pioli is counting on Jovic to regain form, and he will have 15-year-old Francesco Camarda on the bench tonight. It remains to be seen whether the kid will see any action off the bench.
