Fresh Charlton injury setback means Addicks quartet unlikely to be back until 2024

Harry Isted will be out for an extended period of time after suffering a setback in his recovery from a knee injury.

The summer acquisition has been on the market since the beginning of October.

And, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Carlisle, Addicks head coach Michael Appleton announced that Isted’s return date has been pushed out.

It means that Isted, Terry Taylor, Panutche Camara, and Chuks Aneke will all be out until 2024.

All of Charlton’s players who were away on international duty have returned and practiced alongside their teammates.

“Harry has had a little bit of a setback in terms of the knee situation,” said Appleton. “I think it is one of them where we’ll know the extent of that in the coming days.

“The other three you are talking about the new year, or potentially the new year.

“Harry is with the specialist today so we should know either today or Monday what the situation is.”

Camara is on loan from Ipswich Town, and Appleton stated that he is being treated at both teams.

“From his point of view when he initially had the setback, the re-injury, getting himself away was a big thing to clear his head,” said Appleton. “The time it takes to step up his rehab, and the closer he gets to a return is when he will spend most of his time with us.”
