Rafael Leao suffered a hamstring injury in AC Milan’s 2-2 draw with Lecce and could miss the game against Borussia Dortmund. According to reports, he will be back at work at Milanello today or tomorrow.
The Portuguese winger had to leave the Lecce cash after only ten minutes due to a hamstring injury sustained during a run. Milan later revealed that he had suffered a first-degree hamstring injury, putting him at risk of missing the Dortmund encounter.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, as published by MilanNews, Leao has been undergoing treatment for his injuries at home and has not been seen at Milanello recently. He will, however, return to the training grounds either today or tomorrow to complete an individual program.
As the story closes, he will undergo tests to establish his current state of rehabilitation at the beginning of next week. Those tests will most certainly determine his fate in the upcoming game against Dortmund, which is essential for the Rossoneri.
Noah Okafor is expected to replace Leao against the Germans, while Christian Pulisic is expected to play on the left versus Fiorentina. In any case, considering the importance of the UCL match, Leao’s injury came at an inopportune time.
