The games Rafael Leao will likely miss after injury blow to Milan star

Rafael Leao may not play again in November, and AC Milan is unlikely to get him back right away following the international break, according to a report.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (see below), Leao sustained an injury during the opening minutes of Saturday’s 2-2 tie with Lecce. To determine the severity of the problem, he underwent an MRI scan yesterday.

He was diagnosed with a “first degree injury to the right hamstring,” which means he will probably miss 20 days of play, possibly longer if caution is exercised, as it normally is at Milan.

That he will return for the Fiorentina game and the Champions League match on November 28 against Borussia Dortmund appears improbable.

While there are hopes that he would make a speedy recovery and play against Dortmund, it is more likely that he will be available for the 2 December home match against Frosinone. After all, Leao had experienced a very demanding week.

He participated for ninety minutes in the team’s loss to Udinese last Saturday. On Tuesday, he played the entire match against PSG before starting the match against Lecce.

It is conceivable that he had not fully recovered from the Parisians’ exertion, and it is also reasonable to criticize his dreadful warm-up, as several Rossoneri supporters did on social media.
