Lakers’ Rob Pelinka now trying to trade for third star to join LeBron James, Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a sluggish start after one of the best offseasons in sports history. After their unexpected trip to the Western Conference Finals, the Lakers “refined around the edges” and are ready to finish the job this season.

However, as of Wednesday, the Lakers were 3-4 and appeared to be a long way from being a title contender. However, it is early in the season, and there is still time to turn things around.

However, in Los Angeles, there is no such thing as patience, as Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka recognizes. Pelinka is already in the process of acquiring a third star, according to NBA insider Ramona Shelburne.

However, the identity of the third star is unknown.

I know Laker fans are still suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder from the last time we had a third star on the roster, but that wasn’t a fit from the start. It will work if Rob can find the right player, and the Lakers’ fortunes will improve.

It’s still early in the season, and we have no idea who will be available when the trade deadline arrives. Last trade deadline, Pelinka and company crushed it, and if necessary, they will do so again this season.

Hopefully, LA will not have to make drastic changes like they did last season, but a trade or two may be required if they are to get over the hump.

So far, things appear bleak, but we’ll see how the season unfolds.

Can Rob cook once more? We’ll have to wait and see.
