Despite his difficult start to the season, AC Milan still has Jonathan David at the top of their list of summer striker targets, according to a report.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (see below), Milan intends to extend Olivier Giroud’s contract until 2025 and to finally integrate Lorenzo Colombo into the first team after several loan spells.
However, a future striker investment will be required, and ‘David at a discount’ is on the agenda. The management intends to make the Lille star a ‘prized piece of the attacking relay’ to whom Giroud can pass the baton.
Milan attempted to sign the Canada international at the end of last August and will keep an eye on his situation in January, given that his contract expires in June 2025. This detail reduces his market value from the €60 million requested last summer to around €40 million.
It is more difficult to imagine the Rossoneri signing him when the winter transfer window reopens, but Milan will make a second, more aggressive attempt at some point.
