Burnley offer contract to former Manchester City player

Defender for the youth team Marley Leuluai celebrated his seventeenth birthday today by signing his first professional contract with the team.

Leuluai, a New Zealander, came to the team this summer on a two-year scholarship from Manchester City, but he has shown enough in his brief stay to secure this contract.

It’s a dream come true for me to sign my first professional contract, he declared. I really can’t say much more than that; it’s just a dream. Entering Burnley’s academy has, to be honest, been the ideal transition for me.

I’ve played that kind of play my entire life, so it’s been a really smooth transition, and I’m enjoying every second of it. Thus far, it’s been really good.

As an under-17 international for New Zealand, he assisted his team in qualifying for the U17 World Cup the previous year and is currently representing his nation in an Indonesian tournament. Marley continued, “I’m so excited; to represent your country in a World Cup is a dream come true as well. I’m the son of former New Zealand rugby league international Kylie Leuluai. I am eagerly anticipating an exciting few weeks ahead of me.

We hope everything goes well for him and the Clarets.
