Nottingham Forest transfer missing key element after ‘agreement’

Nottingham Forest are reportedly one step closer to signing Fluminense defender Nino.

Forest have been linked with a move for the Brazilian and are willing to pay his €7 million (approximately £6 million) termination fee. The defender is said to have turned down better financial offers in order to move in January.

However, according to Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade, Nino has yet to sign the contract. On X, he wrote, “Nino’s January move to Nottingham Forest is entirely dependent on the infamous ‘contract signing.'” Since last week, everything has been verbally agreed upon.”

Despite the fact that an agreement between Fluminense and Forest had been in place since last week, Nino’s participation in the Copa Libertadores final over the weekend meant that details were kept under wraps.

The player was questioned about Forest’s interest. “I found out this morning,” he explained. It’s not something I want to discuss right now because nothing but tomorrow’s final interests me.”

Because Fluminense only owns 60% of the player’s economic rights, Nino’s former club Criciuma would receive the remaining 40% of any transfer fee.

Fluminense is also said to retain 20% of Nino’s economic rights in the event of a future sale.
