Newcastle United made it four Premier League wins and clean sheets in a row at St James’ Park.
After Dan Burn’s back injury forced Kieran Trippier to switch to left-back at halftime, Newcastle won 1-0 thanks to Anthony Gordon’s second-half strike.
Newcastle remains sixth in the Premier League table after 11 games, with Eddie Howe’s team going seven games unbeaten in the league ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League match at Borussia Dortmund.
And the Magpies’ vice captain was eager to dissect Saturday’s victory, with his wife Charlotte posting a video of Trippier watching the 1-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday on television with the caption: “No days off for KT.” I’m rewatching last night’s game for the second time. #grafter #achievement.”

Trippier has been a mainstay in the Newcastle team since the start of last season, missing only one game – the 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Manchester City in September. England’s right-back has seven assists in 15 games this season across all competitions.
The 33-year-old was Newcastle’s first signing under Eddie Howe, joining for £12 million from Atletico Madrid in January 2022. Trippier has since appeared in 68 games for the club, scoring three goals.
Newcastle has risen from the Premier League relegation zone to compete in Europe’s elite competition, the Champions League, in that time.
