AC Milan has been doing a lot of shopping at Chelsea recently, and they may not be done yet.
Milan have signed Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Olivier Giroud, and Fikayo Tomori in recent transfer windows. So, who might be next?
According to Calciomercato, the Italian giants may consider loaning Trevoh Chalobah in January.
TEAMtalk claims that if Milan or another club wants to sign him permanently, he could cost up to £45 million.
Chalobah has yet to play this season due to injury, and his days at Stamford Bridge appear to be numbered as the Blues seek to offload him.
AC Milan could be a great move for Trevoh Chalobah
Tomori, a central defender who, like Chalobah, rose through the Chelsea youth system, is flourishing at Inter. He is easily one of their most important players right now.
According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old is averaging 1.5 interceptions per game this season in Serie A, the highest average in Stefano Pioli’s squad. He also makes 2.4 clearances per game, which is more than any other Milan player except Malick Thiaw.
Tomori has improved as a defender in Milan as he has gained playing time. If Chalobah relocates there, he may develop in a similar manner.
He made good progress at Chelsea, but with the 24-year-old now falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, that progress will be put on hold.
Mauricio Pochettino’s current squad includes Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill, and Wesley Fofana. Given that, Chalobah will struggle to find playing time in west London.
Given how things have gone for Tomori at Milan, it would not be surprising if Chalobah considered moving there if the former Serie A champions made a January move for him.
