Gary O’Neil gives timeline on Pedro Neto injury and possible return date

Pedro Neto’s injury status has been updated by Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil.

The Portuguese winger, who has had a fantastic start to the season, was unfortunately stretchered off against Newcastle United at the end of last month.

Pulling up after scoring, it became clear that the winger had strained his hamstring.

There were immediate concerns about how long the Portuguese wideman would be out.

Despite the initial concerns, O’Neil, speaking to the media ahead of his team’s next game against Sheffield United on Saturday, appears confident that his number seven will be able to return before the end of the year.

“A few weeks is probably about where we are with it at the moment,” he said.

“He won’t be available this weekend, and he won’t be available next weekend so then we go into an international break and we’ll see how he’s healing at that point so nothing definitive…”
