‘Bit of a nightmare’: Paul Merson makes Wolves prediction for Sheffield United clash

Paul Merson has released his latest Premier League predictions, and he believes Wolves will have a successful weekend against Sheffield United.

Wolves’ good form has continued for quite some time, with Gary O’Neil leading his team to five Premier League games without defeat. As a result, Wolves appear to have put the relegation battle behind them, as they sit in 12th place, seven points clear.

Last weekend, Wolves drew 2-2 with Newcastle, but Mario Lemina admitted that Wolves could have won.

The biggest concern following the game is Pedro Neto’s new injury concerns. Wolves appear to be optimistic that his return is not too far away, with the end of the year looming.

However, Neto will not be in action ahead of this weekend’s game against Sheffield United, which will have an impact on them, but Paul Merson is still backing Old Gold to win.

Merson has backed Wolves and heaped praise on O’Neil in his weekly predictions column on SportsKeeda.

“Sheffield United would have looked at this game three or four weeks ago and earmarked it as a winnable game, but Wolves are flying at the moment, making this one a bit of a nightmare for the Bees.”Gary O’Neil has done an excellent job since taking over at Molineux. He’s got them playing a decent brand of football and they look good on both ends of the pitch, making them one of the Premier League’s most underrated teams right now.”

Merson then made his predictions, which included a Wolves victory with a 3-1 scoreline at Bramall Lane.

Where could Wolves finish the weekend?

Wolves could leapfrog Manchester United and all the other teams from eighth to twelfth if they win. This, of course, assumes that points are dropped elsewhere.

This would be a significant achievement for O’Neil, who has led Wolves to success despite many predicting relegation before the season began.

We have to agree with Merson and predict Wolves will be six games undefeated by the time the sun sets on Saturday.
