Newcastle United now in pole position to sign £25m striker with 21 goals this season

Newcastle United appears to be leading the race to acquire the services of 20-year-old Santos forward sensation, Marcos Leonardo, as reported by TEAMtalk. The club has expressed a strong interest in adding Marcos Leonardo to their squad due to his remarkable performance during the current season. Numerous European clubs are also eyeing the talented Santos striker.

Marcos Leonardo’s journey to success began within the ranks of Santos, and he made his debut for the first team in the summer of 2020. Despite his young age, he has already participated in more than 150 matches with the Santos first team, contributing to 65 goals.

This Brazilian youth international has recently elevated his game, impressing both for his club and his country. He has made seven appearances for the Brazil Under-20 team and scored seven goals in those games.

In the 2023 season, Marcos Leonardo has netted a total of 21 goals in 42 appearances for Santos. He has spent over 3,600 minutes on the field and has been a key player for his team. His outstanding performances have garnered significant attention from potential suitors.
