Milan star returns to training after injury blow but is unlikely to start v Udinese on Sunday

Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek returned to training with the rest of the first-team squad on Thursday, giving Stefano Pioli a much-needed boost amid a growing injury list at San Siro.
The Englishman started seven of the Rossoneri’s first eight matches of the season in all competitions, but was forced off with an adductor injury against Lazio at the end of September.

He has since missed three consecutive Serie A matches, as well as two more in the Champions League.

Loftus-Cheek is unlikely to start against Udinese in the league on Sunday, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, but could play in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain at home on Tuesday instead.

As a precaution, Pioli is expected to manage the 27-year-old’s minutes in the coming matches.

Milan, on the other hand, are still waiting for Christian Pulisic, who is still working on his recovery in the gym, as well as Samuel Chukwueze and Simon Kjaer, who both worked out on the grass.

Both defenders Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino are expected to be out for several months.
