Double injury boost confirmed ahead of Millwall v Southampton clash

MILLWALL are set to get a double injury-return boost ahead of their match against Saints on Saturday, with Shaun Hutchinson and Ryan Leonard returning to the squad.

Hutchinson has been out with a calf injury since early September, while Leonard has been out with a cracked bone in his knee.

Hutchinson, 32, has appeared in 248 Championship games for Millwall and even fewer overall.

Leonard, 31, was born in Plymouth and has made 54 Championship appearances for Millwall in the last two seasons but has not played this season.

“Lenny and Hutch are back in training,” Lions interim manager Adam Barrett confirmed to the South London Press. “It’s great to have them back full-time.”

“Hopefully, they’ll make it through the next few days – we expect them to – and be involved on Saturday.”

“It’s great to have them back on the team.” Watford had a very young bench.

“Hutchy has been out for about two and a half months, and Lenny has been out for about three or four weeks.” It’s their first few days back on the field with us.”

Duncan Watmore and Matija Sarkic are set to miss Millwall’s match on Armed Forces Day at The Den.

“Dunc still might be a little bit longer but if all goes well he can be back involved fully in training next week,” Barrett went on to say. “Matija (Sarkic) is still a few weeks away.”

“On the injury front, things are looking a little better.” With some of the senior lads back, we look a little stronger.”
