On Wednesday evening, Newcastle United will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
Pascal Gross of Brighton and Hove Albion has provided Borussia Dortmund winger Julian Brandt with information on Newcastle United ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League meeting at St James’ Park (kick-off 8pm).
Eddie Howe’s side welcome the Bundesliga team to Tyneside seeking to extend their fantastic start to the ‘group of death’. The Magpies presently lead Group F after drawing with Milan and defeating Paris Saint-Germain.
Dortmund, meanwhile, are bottom of the table after losing to PSG before drawing with AC Milan. Brandt conducted study on United with the assistance of Gross. The couple recently returned from a tour of the United States with the German national team.
“A very good atmosphere awaits us there,” Gross said to Brandt. “It’s different from City or Chelsea.”
“Even though they produced a very good performance against PSG, we must go there full of confidence,” Brandt added. Everything is possible in this group. We are desperate for a win.”
Meanwhile, Dortmund coach Edin Terzic anticipates a “intensive challenge.”
Terzic had previously faced Newcastle and head coach Howe when working as Slaven Bilic’s assistant manager at West Ham United.
